Luggage

• You can transport free of charge:
  • On board, a small accessory as hand luggage, which must fit in the overhead compartments above the seats. Check for more information.
  • In the luggage compartment/hold, one suitcase, bag, or backpack whose maximum weight will depend on your selected fare:
    · Basic Fare: up to 20 kg.
    · Flexible Fare: up to 25 kg.
    · Super Flexible Fare: up to 30 kg.
• You can add extra luggage, from €5 per journey on domestic services and from €10 on international services, weighing up to 25 kg in a single item, which will be placed in the hold.
  If you don't select it during the ticket purchase, don't worry, you can do it later by following these steps:
  1. Go to Manage tickets.
  2. Enter the booking reference and ID (DNI/NIF/Passport) and the date of purchase or travel.
  3. In Options, select Change.
  4. In EXTRAS, select Change again; there you can add the extra luggage to your ticket.

✔ It is important that you identify all your luggage. Tags are available at points of sale. Don't forget to ask for yours to identify your suitcase.

✔ In case of loss or damage to your luggage, please go to any of our points of sale as soon as you arrive, or complete our LOST PROPERTY form to start the search.

✔ You cannot carry food that may affect the health of passengers or damage other luggage.

Technological suitcases with battery

Passengers may only carry smart luggage with batteries not exceeding 100 Wh, which must be removed from the luggage before boarding. Passengers are required to carry the battery with them during the journey. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that any technological devices and batteries they are carrying are in good condition. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in the luggage being denied access to the bus.

Ban on electric scooters

• From January 10, 2024, access to the bus with electric scooters is prohibited on all Alsa services.
• This prohibition applies not only to electric scooters, but to any other mobility device equipped with batteries.
• Vehicles for people with reduced mobility are excluded from the ban.
• The measure is adopted to safeguard the safety of customers.

Do you enjoy cycling, surfing or skiing?

Now with Alsa you can transport your sports equipment:

• Supplement fees: €5 on short trips or €10 on longer journeys.
• On international routes, the transport of bicycles is allowed on all own lines, for an amount of  €20, prior reservation and payment of the amount.
• A total of 4 bicycles per vehicle (one for each ticket), ensure your booking before travelling.
• This service is not available on double-decker buses.
• Bicycles must be placed in a bag prepared for their transport (boxes will not be accepted). And, due to space limitations, we recommend that the front wheel of bicycles be packed disassembled. We have bicycle covers available for €15. Ask at the ticket desk.
• Surfboards must have a maximum length of approximately 2 meters.
• Please arrive at the bus for boarding at least 15 minutes before departure.
• Other special baggage: the same rates and conditions will be applicable to all sports and/or leisure equipment and accessories that are comparable, similar or comparable to those described above and that due to their dimensions and/or characteristics must be located in the hold of the bus. This luggage must be in a condition to travel without causing damage to other luggage or packages, and it is mandatory that it be packaged for transport.

Musical instruments as luggage

Travelers can transport musical instruments on the bus, which will travel in the hold, at no additional cost, with the rest of the luggage. Musical instruments must have a maximum weight of 20 kg.

Additional luggage insurance for just €1.00

What does the insurance cover? It will guarantee compensation for loss and damage to luggage or personal belongings for the insured party in the event of theft, total or partial loss due to the fault of the transport company or as a result of fire or other circumstances occurring during the journey up to a maximum value of €150.

All cameras and photography equipment, and audio-visual devices and accessories will be included up to a value of 50% of the sum insured for the luggage. Loss or theft due to the owners negligence will be excluded, as well as all jewellery, money, documents, objects of value and sports equipment or personal computers.

For the purposes of the above exclusion, the following definitions will apply:

• Jewellery: all objects containing gold, platinum, pearls or gemstones.
• Objects of value: silver objects, paintings and artworks, collections of all types and fine furs.

For claims in the event of theft, it will be necessary to present a statement to the competent police authorities.
